MCKENZIE LIAUTAUD is in the STORY…
New York, NY- May 5, 2014- Jewelry designer Mckenzie Liautaud joins the STORY with a special collection and the new STORY is GOOD. Mckenzie joins several social entrepreneurs from Donna Karan, to Uncharted Play co-founder Jessica Mathews, to Blake Mycoskie of TOMS in efforts to supporting conscious consumerism and giving back to the community.
Transforming the idea of your average store, STORY is a retail concept that takes the perspective of a magazine, changes like a gallery and sells merchandise like a store. That means every four to eight weeks, STORY reinvents itself and completely changes the 2,000 square foot store located in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan- right down to fixtures and floor plans. The ever-changing merchandise and Feng Shui of the retail corridor comes with shedding light to a new theme, trend or issue and now the STORY is GOOD. The STORY has created a marketplace devoted to changing the way we shop and this time around it is designers like Liautaud coming together to do something good and make a change in society.
Born in New York to Haitian parents, designer Mckenzie Liautaud has always been fascinated with global culture and the art that informs it. Bridging the gap between western styles and tribal-inspired elements, Mckenzies eponymous collection seamlessly meshes semi-precious stones, precious stones, Swarovski crystals, recycled vinyl, glass spikes and African tribal beads into pieces that reflect a truly multi-cultural style.
Mckenzie Liautauds special collection at the STORY has a price range from $50 -$150 USD and will be available from May 5 until June 5. The STORY is located at 144 10th Avenue New York, NY 10011, phone: 212-242-4853. During this collaboration, proceeds from the Mckenzie Liautaud collection will be benefiting the Lower Eastside Girls Club (LESGC) of New York.
